Recently there was an update fixing an issue with this special system folder [https://freecommander.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13302] but I have discovered 3 others:


1] When I select my GodMode Folder, click it with Right Mouse Button, hold down, drag to another Panel, let got and choose Create shortcuts here entry I get a pop-up question

Windows can't create a shortcut here.
Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?

In the same time creating in such way of LNK files leading to other folders is not a problem. [And also dragging with Left Mouse Button]


2] When I use

Tools > Settings > Filter/folder operations > General > Delete > Use FreeCommander

option and attempt to delete shortcut leading to GodMode Folder, FreeCommander goes through a list of items - but in the end that LNK file is not deleted and nothing changes


3] When I use

Tools > Settings > Filter/folder operations > General > Delete > Use FreeCommander

option and attempt to delete GodMode Folder itself, FreeCommander reports an error and nothing happens



I am using Build 891 64-bit Donor Portable on Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 x64

4] When I go to

Customize favorite toolbars... > Define favorite toolbars > Icon > ... > Seek icon file...

and then navigate to location where my GodMode folder is - then it is not visible

[Although that has probably nothing to do with FreeCommander, as it is a pop-up window of Windows Explorer that it is not showing it]

Have you tried all of this in Windows Explorer?

Good question. I should had asked this myself before posting


ad #1:

Happens also in Windows Explorer - hence it is not the fault of FreeCommander


ad #2-3:

Now I am unable to reproduce seeing FC going through list; but this folder still does not get deleted when deletion is handled by FC. And I think I made a mistake when I was referring to a shortcut - as apparently LNK file cannot be created at all but just another copy of that folder

I might have wrote wrongly back then

Tools > Settings > Filter/folder operations > General > Delete > Use FreeCommander

instead of wanted

Tools > Settings > Filter/folder operations > General > Delete > Use Windows

in point #2 or #3, but I do not remember if that was the case and in which point

Nevertheless: FC is unable to delete that special folder


ad #4

Does not apply to Windows Explorer

I prefer a free tool named Extended GodMode.
It doesn't need any tricks to show it, and has more functions than the original.
