I really like the favorite items toolbar, I use it regularly.

However on more than one occasion I have lost all my items. There is a bug somewhere.

It just occurred again, while I was trying to add the active panel into a subfolder.

Unfortuntately I cannot reproduce this accurately. It has happened on 2 different PCs so I think it is not OS or related to other tools , I really think there is a bug somewhere. Bug is quite important, because it can take quite a bit of time to setup this favorite items sidebar.

Workaround: use backup of your settings and copy FreeCommander.fav.xml into the current settings.

I'm using the portable FC.
Every day I make a full ZPAQ backup of the whole tree into the same archive.
ZPAQ is deduplicating, so this archive grows only slowly and can have hundreds of versions.

But do you mean that after right-clicking and choosing Customize favorite toolbars in the upper left sub-window you no longer see such Toolbar on the list of available ones? Or they are present but without some newly added Items?

Maybe those two happenings occurred after a FreeCommander or system crash? This, assuming you have not saved your Settings, would explain why you lost such recent addition

beautiful, it works! didn't realize my settings were being auto backedup, very useful! and sufficient.

To be honest the bug does not happen often (about once every 6 months), but when it has happened it has been painful, the workaround is more than enough.
