Sorry to ask such a silly question.
I am a long standing user of FreeCommander, but I can't figure out why, after upgrading to Donor 64bit 891, I can only search for folders. Files are not found!
I have also noticed that the search results windows turns an ominous black while searching.
I'm sure it's a silly oversight on my part, so I apologize in advance.
Thanks!
Search only finds folders but not files

Re: Search only finds folders but not files
Hello, Horst,
your input did not provide a direct answer, but it did get me thinking and indeed find my own answer.
It turns out that the Search function has an option called "Add wildcards to filename", that I was never aware of. I don't know if it was there before or not, or maybe it defaulted to what I prefer (i.e. automatic wildcard).
I did not activate this option, and hence a search for "xyz" only returned files or folders called exactly "xyz" and nothing else. Activating the option cures the problem.
I thank you very much for taking the time to help me and point me in the right direction.
Best regards,
Antonio
