Build 861 32-bit public, Windows 10 Pro with latest Updates.
I've been observing this issue for while now and I'm not sure if it is known and maybe has been fixed already.
Anyhow I cannot find something that fits in the older posts.
Select some files
Open "Multi Rename"
Type in something into "File Name:" (not really required)
Switch to main FreeCommander XE window
Select a file, slow double click for rename (or F2).
Copy something from the file name
Switch back to the "Multi Rename" window
Paste this text into "File Name:"
From now on it is not possible to delete something in "File Name:" text field.
Neither "Tab" nor "Delete" is working.
This seems not to be the case if you switch to other programs just FreeCommander XE itself.

This sounds exatly like my bug: viewtopic.php?p=37001

Yes, I've seen your post, but seemed like not the same: The window is not blocked in general, I can type things in, but cannot delete something.
Maybe it is the same thing and I've misunderstood your description.

Try if it works for you:
Use ESC key (or click on other item) for closing editingSelect some files
Open "Multi Rename"
Type in something into "File Name:" (not really required)
Switch to main FreeCommander XE window
Select a file, slow double click for rename (or F2).
Copy something from the file name

Thanks, this seem to work!
There is also another way by selecting what supposed to be deleted, right mouse button, "Delete".
Also it seem to depend on the refresh of the new name preview.
If the window is flickering updating, it is quite sure that you'll get this issue.
If not, then not. Still not sure if there is really a link.
Though it does not apply only to the "File Name:" but also to the other text boxes.
A quite naughty one
