FC 876 64-bit system tray icon not permanently visible

In windows 11 there is the option to show or hide additional system tray icons under Settings > Personalization > Taskbar. With this option I should be able to show the FC icon next to the clock instead of the popup window. This works fine with other icons, but not with the FC icon. It always remains in the little popup.

I have rewritten the function of the system tray icon for the next release.
It seems to work properly in Windows 11 now.

Well, 877 64-bit is now a little broken on Windows 7 (or maybe it always has been, but I just noticed it now). When FC starts up the first time with these settings:

Code: Select all

OneInstance=1
MinimizeToTray=1
AlwaysShowSystrayIcon=1
CloseAsMinimize=1
there is no system tray icon at all in the system tray or the system tray pop-up.
The icon appears pinned in the system tray only after closing/minimizing FC, but it does stay there as long as FC is not terminated.

The issue I have is that when I click the tray icon, FC doesn't open on the first click. There is a flicker on the taskbar as the icon appears then disappears, but I have to click the icon again to open FC. It's pretty annoying and this seems to have been broke in the last update.

I had this issue, too, and sometimes still do, but I can not reproduce it reliably. Can you? Does this happen when no other applications are open or only specific ones? This behavior may depend on some other system factors and which applications are running on top. I will observe this more closely on my system and make a note of running apps when the issue recurs.
Since I have implemented a workaround for my little problem described below - namely setting FC to open minimized and placing its link in the startup folder- FC opens immediately when I single-click on its system tray symbol.

Since the last FC update it was happening all the time, but following your advice of enabling the 'Start minimized' option, it seems to be much better. Thank you for that. I will monitor it and report back if I find anything that might reveal the cause.

The opening of FC from the taskar icon does continue to be a frustrating issue. Most of the time I have to click the icon 2 or 3 times before FC shows again. I don't have any issues with any other software. So, not sure really, but hoping it fixes in a future version.

This never happens here.
What FC version you are using ?
