# Adobe and the Preview Pane

#1 Post by chris millward » 20.07.2022, 20:50

Adobe updated on the 5/7/2022. There is now a toolbar on the preview pane and it seems to take much longer to present a preview, sometimes not at all. Additionally if # is used in the filename, e.g.c# - you get a directory listing or 'file not found'. It is true that # is technically an illegal character but the so are " , ' ( [ etc and these are used regularly without a problem. # is commonly used shorthand to represent an issue number of a magazine for example #285. Opening the filename directly works normally.

I see no problem when using # in the file names.
You can disable the toolbar on the preview pane:
- right click in the free space of the preview
- uncheck the item in the popup menu: Show action toolbar

It only affects pdf files so it must be something to do with the adobe update
