Copy/Move - F5/F6 for internal viewer

#1 Post by Dreamer » 03.07.2022, 14:49

This would be useful to copy/move files easier and faster in the internal viewer.

It's possible to delete, edit and rename file, but not copy or move.

Currently it's possible to use "Link to file list" option as workaround, but it's few additional steps, need to enable this option and switch focus back to the main window.

Another problem is, that viewer window could be fully or partly over the main window, so "Link to file list" option can't be used in this case.

Quick viewer problems - it's smaller than viewer and not all keyboard shortcuts can be used, e.g. multimedia VLC shortcuts to seek, mute, pause.

Copy and Move keyboard shortcuts could be customizable, perhaps even disabled/unassigned by default.

Copy/Move toolbar buttons could be added too, to be able to do the same actions with mouse only.

EDIT: After the operations Copy and Move switch to the next file, same as with Delete, it could be an option, so we could process the files with 1 click, like this:
- right arrow to switch to the next file
- delete to delete file and switch to the next file
- F5 to copy and switch to the next file *
- F6 to move and switch to the next file *
- F2 to rename file and switch to the next file *

* as option

Don't give the quick view window the focus
and you can do all types of file manipulation including copy / move.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3296)
Everything Version 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.67

I know, but as I said, quick viewer is smaller - and I'm using small main FC window, so I'd have to enable quick viewer, maximize FC window, resize the quick viewer, after the operation change it all back.

Another reason, as I said either, I can't use some keyboard shortcuts in quick viewer, can't seek, pause, mute video/audio.

I updated the first post.

After the operations Copy and Move switch to the next file, same as with Delete, it could be an option, so we could process the files with 1 click, like this:
- right arrow to switch to the next file
- delete to delete file and switch to the next file
- F5 to copy and switch to the next file *
- F6 to move and switch to the next file *
- F2 to rename file and switch to the next file *

* as option
