Semicolon sign cannot be used for icons on Address Bar and Splitter but ; does work in Favorite Toolbars

#1 Post by Forez » 29.06.2022, 16:12

If an ICO file has

Code: Select all

;
sign anywhere in its name then there is no problem with using an icon stored in it for a shortcut created on a Favorite Toolbar. But if the very same ICO file is chosen for item on Splitter or Address Bar, then it is not shown

To be precise: user can load up that ICO, see icons it is holding and even click Apply - but it will not be shown on Splitter / Address Bar; and if user comes back to the option governing this, then the saw icon is no longer visible and the now shown path leading to it is shortened from

C:\Icons\Sample ; .ico

to just

C:\Icons\

This happens in version 861 32-bit on Windows 10 Enterprise 20H2 19042.746 x6

Is that really your solution: stop using what you use / change our modus operandi?

And is that really your question: who uses A sign for A feature in A program?

With such logic we can remove every bug section on every forum and delete every post reporting any issue in any software

Maybe the next time you just advise changing software? Or why stop there- post a neat solution in form of changing the operating system

In other words: thank you for the really valuable help; and stupid me. Oh, snap! I just used the ; sign. And there goes another semicolon - how can I stop this stupidity?!

Your post is full of hate.
I agree.
@Forez
Please try to answer normally in the future.

You are right, it does not work correctly.
I will try to fix it for the next release.

Hate? What hate?

That was not hate, but a sarcasm. And the above line is irony. While my top most answer in this post of is a mix of irony and nonsense

But if those do not fly with your rules for this forum, then I will refrain from using them in the future
