Filter

Is there any option to filter items automatically when i start typing...? Now is working like search function but is there any option like in total commander when start typin it is automatically filtering items? Thanks.

For me the Quick filter already does the same as in Total Commander.
If I start typing into it, it filters the list and only shows the matching files.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3296)

You have to click within the quick filter first, this is different, just filter as you type, e.g. click any file and start typing.

There are 2 modes for Quick search in Total Commander
and only if you have configured the filter method you can just type to filter.
So in 1 of its modes TC behaves exactly as FC.
I'm using Total Commander as primary files manager since Windows 3.11 but I like the QuickFilter of FC more.
There you have both methods always available.
The best logic is in my 2nd file manager XYplorer.
There you have what you want (typing filters) and an addional Live Filter box which is the same as FCs QuickFilter.

The problem is, that Ctrl+Y is not so easy accessible with the QWERTY keyboard, and when using quick search, just the first item is focused, often you have to type more characters to find the correct file, quick filter will filter all items immediately, so it's faster.

BTW Quick search/quick filter were improved:
