There are all those configurable options and features available at
Options > Settings
I my opinion it would be time saving for the user if all those entries were listed in an alphabetical order. Because that list, especially when the sub-list View is unfolded, is a little too long to be forced too read most of it or to search through it for the right thing, or having to per-memorize its position
Settings' non-alphabetical order is counterproductive

Sorry thats nonsense for new users.
If you don't know how a function is named you may not find it.

Nonsensical is what you claim
Whatever option was named as, it will be easier to find if it will be listed alphabetically - thus most benefit from it would have new users, who do not know what there are looking for, or know what they are looking for but do not know where it is located [thus have to read through whole list]

Re: Settings non-alphabetical order is counterproductive
What about the FAQ and online Help and all the images with the actual sorting?
What about existing users, it would be confusing for them.
I think the only acceptable solution would be quick filter for the settings window.
For new users there is (online) help and the FAQ (and this forum).

This is right, some options have a different name in different programs, e.g. plain view, or quick view (preview in Windows).
Re: Settings non-alphabetical order is counterproductive
Yes. Assuming, that they do not know the alphabet and / or are unable to notice that items on a list are arranged in accordance to how letters are placed in the alphabet in reliance to each other
Thus a sane user wanting to do something with command line will not seek View or Icons but something like CMD, command line, DOS prompt - and with alphabetical list such logically thinking user could do this much quicker. And if such user fails - then will give up or seek help in one form or another. But I bet it is more likely to give up when you see chaos
