868 and Win 11

#1 Post by Lanemc01 » 26.05.2022, 15:41

I updated my computer to Win 11. In the process of getting all my data in the right places, I was using FC to move stuff around. went to the C:\Users\"my name"\Documents\Family Tree maker folder to move some stuff in or out. The folder in FC showed 2 copies of every file and when I tried to delete the duplicates, I got some weird messages about file is in storage or something close. Regret not taking a screen shot at that moment.

The duplicates do not show up in File Explorer. After trying to figure this out, it appears the files in the folder and in One Drive both show up in FreeCommander but not in File Explorer. Also, the files I saw in FC had no indication that the file was really in the main folder or in One Drive. Also, when I deleted some "duplicates' in FC, they apparently were restored by one drive.

Also, it appears One Drive sets itself up automatically when you sign up for a microsoft account. I had no clue it was even backing all this stuff up.

With all that said, I cannot duplicate that event today, Everything seems normal.

There is nothing wrong running FC under Windows 11.
I run Windows 11 since its first public available version without problems.
The OneDrive app allows you to setup what dirs are synchronized and if the files should be available offline.
