How to use QuickLook for windows inside Freecommander?

#1 Post by nolem » 26.04.2022, 15:53

I have tried QuickLook Which 'allows users to peek into a file content in lightning speed by just pressing the Space key'. I find it very fast for previewing different types of files. For this, I would like to know how to integrate it inside FreeCommander.
QuickLook have provided a guide for integrating their tool inside TotalCommander https://github.com/QL-Win/QuickLook/wik ... -Commander. I would really appreciate if I can find a similar step-by-step guide for doing so with FreeCommander.

Thanks

try it this way:

afterwards you can set your shortcut for External Viewer to 'Space'

but: why would you like to do that? FC has implemented viewers for a lot of file types.

Thanks, @alf5000, unfortunately, this didn't work for me. I know it should, but nothing launches even when I change View external shortcut. Did it work for you?

Regarding your question: I originally tried FC for its built in file preview feature. It works on all the type of file I need, and it renders them way better than QuickLook. The problem that it has is that the preview is slow on my machine to the point where it freezes FC and cause it to crash at times. I went this far with trying with QuickLook just to have a faster workflow.

That's brilliant! I didn't even know QuickLook was a thing in Windows, let alone the fact that it can be used in FC!
