custom columns profile shortcut (actions toolbar button and keyboard)

#1 Post by kino » 09.12.2021, 17:44

Hello,

This is a comfort request (feature being already pretty accessible but as always, searching to spare seconds...)

As of today, selecting a custom columns profile requires 3 successive clicks :

menu View > Column Profiles > custom cols Profile name

Would it be possible to offer custom action toolbar buttons for custom columns profiles (as it exists for layouts, favorites, quick filters, etc.) as well as a customizable key combination as a keyword shortcut ?

Thanks

B.

Hi Dreamer,

AutoViews are cool and I use them a lot for dedicated folders according to content (media typically, vs. regular files, where metadata columns get interesting)

However, I also happen to swap between columns sets (profiles) on a very same folder (sometimes I need long filenames, sometimes dates are more my focus, other time size and consolidated folder counts are more of my concern)

AutoViews won't enable this and AutoViews do not feature shortcuts either (otherwise I could indeed cascade from there to columns profiles)

Thanks

B.

OK, I understand.

BTW Another workaround, right click the column header and select Column profiles, then select your profile.

I'm full of shame to dare this response but it's yet another 3-steps operation to undertake

(yeah well... after all, it's your fault by providing us productivity tools, we end up getting needy and demanding ;-) )

Cheers
