To reproduce assign the Delete key for action "Delete - no confirmation" in viewer settings.

Then switch image with right arrow button, press Delete to delete image and then quickly press Esc key, repeat if needed.

First some small dialog is shown, it just blinks and then immediately the exception.

FC 851, default settings, Windows 10 21H1.

I can confirm your findings.

Please check if it is fixed in the 852 release.
