850: file list loses keyboard focus if Quick View shows a pdf file

With Quick View open, select a file in the file list (I use Details, but it also does this on Thumbnails etc.).
The file is shown in the Quick View, if it is a supported format.
Normally, the filename in the list remains highlighted, and you can use up and down-arrow to move the to the next file.
But if you select a pdf file with the mouse, or move to a pdf file using the cursor keys, the highlight in the file list disappears as soon as Quick View shows the file, and the cursor keys do nothing

This worked prior to updating to 850. I don't recall what version I upgraded from. Just one or two revs earlier.

BTW: I live in FreeCommander, and I weep when I have to use Windows Explorer on someone else's PC.

Confirmed
After the pdf is displayed in Quickview
one must click the highlighted pdf file once (select)
then the cursor keys work as expected, until another pdf file is reached.

FreeCommander XE 2021 Build 850 64-bit donor
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Version 20H2 Build 19042.1165

Note: Under settings for viewer
PDF - Use internal viewer is activated
.pdf is entered in file types as Internet/office

under settings for programs:
external viewer for *.pdf is entered and activated
external viewer is also the system default viewer for pdf files

I have SumatraPDF configured as Viewer for PDF.
There are no such strange effects, the focus always stays in the file list.

Tested with default settings,
no viewer for .pdf files under settings->programs configured
can still confirm
