It looks it's mainly with large images, if the current and next images need to be fit to window.

Tested with default settings, small viewer window, jpg, png images.

It was OK in 840 and I think also in 849.

FC 850 64-bit, Windows 10 21H1 64-bit.

I tried to reproduce, but was unsuccessful.
I cycled through a folder of jpg and png images of wallpaper size and observed no flickering going from one image to another.
I used a freshly extracted portable version with default settings and a small viewer window.
I am running an earlier version of Windows 10, 64-bit.

I did the same as H.Seldon and also cannot confirm flickering.
