I tested this bug some time and here are the results:

When I start FC, both panels have list view, then exit FC, everything is OK, FC exe is removed from task manager.

When I start FC, change view in one panel to thumbnails view, exit FC, FC exe remains in the task manager.

I think the reason is, that I removed thumbnails cache yesterday, when I start WE, it's loading - green loading bar is visible, I think in FC it's the same, I have a subfolder with thousands of files and both, WE and FC try to create thumbnails not just for current folder, but also for all subfolders.

I had FC exe in task manager yesterday and today, after I closed FC, sometime 1x, sometime 2x.
I think it can be related with some bugs reported by other users, who have freezing with many folders/file, the reason could loading of thumbnails in background.

BTW Screenshot from task manager is created while FC window and WE window was closed, no other instances were running.

I can always reproduce it now, FC is never closed correctly in task manager, tested with 8443+, 844, 840.

EDIT: I can reproduce it also if Explorer is not running, just open FC, exit FC and the exe is not removed from task manager, never.

Problem solved itself, it's relating with other similar bugs.
