I use quick filters all the time and have notice different behavior lately, but can't tell you exactly when.

The behavior:
Select quick filter icon
Filter icon adds a red "x" to it
Switch tab and the quick filter is still active, but the red "x" is no longer there
To turn off the filter the icon has to be clicked twice. The first click turns the red "x" back on and the pane is still filtered. The second click will now turn off the filter.

In the past when changing tabs with the filter on the red "x" remained on the filter icon so you'd only have to click once, but now you have to click twice to clear the filter. This is really no big deal, but I've been using FC for about 20 years now and it's always worked good.

Any thoughts?

Bug confirmed in 832(8324), with default settings.

"Select quick filter icon" = activate quick filter, just type anything to quick filter field.

Hint - if you want to disable quick filter on tab/folder change, use option "Deactivate filter on folder change".

Thanks for the hint. I am looking forward to the bug getting squashed since I go between tabs needing the filter on also.
