I use Windows more than Linux largely because of FreeCommander. FreeCommander is so good that I prefer to manage files within Windows instead of Linux.
I would like to use Linux more, however. What comes closest to FreeCommander, but for Linux?

Some of the features I love about FreeCommander:
- Very fast to open.
- Multiple panes that can be placed horizontally one on top of the other (unfortunately limited to 2 panes... would love 3-4 panes even more).
- Integrated archive (ZIP, 7Z, etc.) file support that treats archive files just like folders.
- Flat/plain mode to show a folder's contents along with all the contents of it's subfolders (recursively).
- Integrated checksum verification (SHA256, MD5, etc.).
- Amazing batch renaming functionality.
- Incredibly powerful file search.
- Duplicate file finder.
- Full customization of colors.
- Full customization of toolbars.
- Full customization of keyboard shortcuts.
- Extensive other settings to customize and personalize.
- Right-click to drag and drop with a pop-up menu asking to copy or move.
- Secure file wiping.
- Easy to change file properties and all timestamps.
- Frequent bug fixes.
- Reliable.
- Great community!
