Hi 2 questions:
1. Is it possible to keep the column when switching to thumbnail view?
2. Is it possible to set auto selectable view with 48x48 thumbnail size?

1. It is not possible
2. Auto selectable view does not save the thumb size. Check Layouts - thumb size will be saved.
