foldersize stopped working the same way it did with FC 2007.xx version. no matter whether i edit the ini file for showfoldersize, or use ALT-F9 continually, there doesn't appear to be a way to have foldersize appear consistently. it will sometimes display for a single folder (of several in that directory), but not always.

i love foldersize, and wish the vista folk had included it for explorer (alas, sigh).

on my wish list: please include filecount in a folder as well (or a way to include different columns into a detail folder display), so i know not only how large a folder is, but how many files (and folders) are located in sub-folders.

I think it's not a bug, folder size option is automatically disabled on exit now - it was too slow. Perhaps the ini option would help you (showfoldersize=2 - to always show the folder size, also on exit).

just tried showfoldersize=2, but it didn't help. if you meant it would be a good idea to code that in, i'll agree. my machines aren't slow, and i've always liked displaying foldersize, even several years ago when it was a service program for a much slower XP box.

re the wish list: it was only a wish, and i didn't realize it was problematic here. i'll open it elsewhere...

Yes, it was just a suggestion. My computer is not slow either, but the hard drive is working all the time and it's slow on folders with many files inside.

You can add the toolbar button "Size of directories" and just click it on start as workaround.
