WinXP Home SP2.
Drive option 'same folder like in the other panel' - checked

Situation
step 1 - I changed left panel to D:\ from C:\ by combo drive bar
step 2 - I changed right panel to D:\ from E:\ by combo drive bar
step 3 - I changed left panel to subfolder D:\temp\temp1
step 4 - I try change right panel to subfolder D:\temp\temp1 by combo drive bar

Results negative - right panel don't change

What about your settings: Extras - Settings - View - Drives: Show with drive select...

I wrote option select 'same folder like in the other panel' checked
