for all date-times in FC were determined by Settings > View > File/Folder List > Timestamp Format.

I'm not sure if this is the best option, I'm using dd.MM.yyyy hh:mm:ss here, but for the files another format would be better (to sort files correctly by date/time) yyyy-MM-dd hh-mm-ss IMHO.

It is not possible to use the same format for showing in the file list and creating files/folders.
Some characters (e.g. ":", "\", "/") are not allowed for creating file/folder names.

I know, it's another reason why I have suggested to use 2 formats, for the program (details view, status bar, tooltip) and for the files and folders.

Perhaps you could move the option from the snapshot options dialog to main Settings and use the second format for the new file/folder and snapshot...

BTW New text file dialog still miss one option - focused item name, New folder dialog has it.

This seems like a good solution to me. At the very least, it should be configured in Settings.

FC-XE 601 now has two formats in Settings > File/Folder Operations: Date Format, and Timestamp Format. The first option has the date only, the second has date plus time and is used for naming screenshots. Both formats are available from the name dropdown for new files and new folders.

BTW New text file dialog still miss one option - focused item name, New folder dialog has it.

Focused item name is now available in the dropdown for new text files - FC-XE 601.

Thank you, Marek! This is a nice, logical, simple solution. I think this takes care of everything in the discussion, so I am adding FIXED to the topic title.

I still think it's not complete. The Message about drop-down menu options is still missing, this message is very important IMHO.
