Drag-selecting does not change keyboard focus

I noticed a problem when selecting several items with the mouse.

1. Go into a folder. After that the dotted selection rectangle will be around the link to the parent directory ("..").
2. Select a number of files by dragging a rectangle around them. Start dragging on the first row ("..") or below the last row in the list.
3. The selected items now have the selection background color, but note that the dotted rectangle indicating keyboard focus is still around the first row (".."). As a result, hitting the return key does not open the selected files, but goes up one directory.

Could this behavior be changed please?
