The release info for Build 914 says that it has

Implemented: New option under Tools->Settings->File/folder list->General: Shorten long file names with ellipsis in the middle
but I do not see this supposed
Tools > Settings > File/folder list > General > Shorten long file names with ellipsis in the middle
option in my FreeCommander XE 2026 Build 946 64-bit Donor Portable nor in Build 941 32-bit Public Installed:
Has it been removed?

I simply misread - and thus was looking in
Tools > Settings > File/folder operations > General >
instead in
Tools > Settings > View > File/folder list > General >
Thank you for taking time to provide the screenshot, which showed me my stupid mistake by graphical comparison
