New option for using mouse wheel with PDF files (Settings->View->Viewer: PDF - use mouse wheel for ...)
This option is nice, but currently this combination is impossible:
- use wheel for switching files
- use ctrl+wheel for zoom
- use shift+wheel for pages
If the option "PDF - use mouse wheel for" is disabled:
- wheel - switch files - correct
- ctrl+wheel - zooming
- shfit+wheel - switch files - incorrect, duplicate option
With this option there is no way to switch pages.

Re: 935 - New option for using mouse wheel with PDF files - issue
Cannot confirm,
Works fine for me. I did notice, one has to click on the PDF in the viewer to activate mouse wheel and the shift and ctrl keys.

Same Here, as Odamn-Eta points out, click on open page and shift ctrl and wheel work
Re: 935 - New option for using mouse wheel with PDF files - issue
OK, default settings, different behavior:
- disable option "PDF - use mouse wheel for"
- enable option Image - use wheel for: "switching files"
= result - now it's impossible to switch from pdf to jpg, next file
Since for PDF the only possible options are for "zooming" and "switching pages", disabling this option should switch files, third option.
Anyway, solution could be easy, just add the third option, same as for images, "Switching files", just to switch any files with the wheel.
BTW It's still impossible to switch to other file from item [..] with the mouse wheel.

Re: 935 - New option for using mouse wheel with PDF files - issue
After testing with various settings I conclude that the mouse wheel function will only work when the viewer panel is in focus, i.e. click in the viewer to set it in focus or activate the setting of the viewer to automatically set it in focus when the file is opened.
Then you will be able to switch to other files from item [..], when you hold the ctrl key down while using the mouse wheel.
Depending on your settings, for example I have set use mouse to zoom with image files and set use mouse to change pages for PDF files. Depending on the file type shown in the viewer (image or PDF), it is necessary to use the shift key or the ctrl key accordingly to switch files.
I have discovered that there is an inconsistency regarding Excel files and Word documents.
In a folder with various file types, when I switch to an Excel file, I can only scroll up and down in the viewer with the mouse wheel. The shift and ctrl keys have no effect. Switching to another file is not possible with the mouse wheel.
When I switch to a Word document, I can only scroll up and down in the viewer with the mouse wheel. When I hold the ctrl key down, the document is zoomed in or out accordingly. The shift key has no effect. Switching to another file is not possible with the mouse wheel.
With other files where the mouse wheel scrolls up and down, i.e. a text file, holding the ctrl key down allows switching to the next file with the mouse wheel.
By the way,
when I
- disable option "PDF - use mouse wheel for"
- enable option Image - use wheel for: "switching files"
- enable autofocus of viewer when file opened
= result - I can switch between all files using the mouse wheel, regardless of file type, including item [..] with the exception of Word and Excel files as well as all files of type text. Here the mouse wheel only allows scrolling through documents.
The shift and ctrl keys have no effect. Switching to another file is not possible with the mouse wheel.
I hope this information was helpful.
Best regards

Re: 935 - New option for using mouse wheel with PDF files - issue
For me if i have a many single page pdf file in a folder with just the mouse wheel it will view one at a time without shift, just wheel, however if a pdf file has more then one page it stops at the second page and i must hold shift to more forward
in fact any type document file with more than one page i must use shift wheel to move forward, WHICH it say's to do so in setting, shift wheel for use for switching files.
