When options
Settings > View > Viewer > Image - use mouse wheel for > switching files
and
Settings > View > Viewer > One viewer per panel > Use the opposite panel
are set then when user turns on
View > Quick view panel
it will show up in the Inactive Panel. And so if user starts using Mouse Wheel with also Control key being pressed down then nothing happens - because the focus is still within the Active Panel. Thus user is forced to perform a [LMB, RMB or MMB] click first somewhere within Quick Viewer area in order to activate it. And although after such click the focus still remains in the Active Panel and user is able to go up and down the list of items within it using the Mouse Wheel [which is a user friendly feature] there are some drawbacks:
1] If user inadvertently goes all the way up to the
Code: Select all
..
2] If user very quickly performs a longer move of Mouse Wheel that allows for going past that mentioned indicator [i.e. user attempts starting to cycle through, either jumping from from top to bottom or from bottom to top] then after initial passing through the highlight stays being stuck on whatever item it had stopped its such fast jump movement. User is then either forced to click within the list of items and then also re-click in Quick Viewer area or forced to turn off and then back on the entire Quick Viewer sub-window
3] It is always impossible to navigate using Arrow keys
4] If user fully switches focus to Inactive Panel then navigating with Mouse Wheel no longer works
[However I was unable to experience switched shortcuts i.e. I always got a zoom in when executing Mouse Wheel Up and zoom out with Mouse Wheel Down]
These drawbacks are also present when option
Settings > View > Viewer > Image - use mouse wheel for > zooming
is chosen and option
Settings > View > Viewer > One viewer per panel > Use the opposite panel
is not chosen
[And I also have not tested out using Quick Viewer as a separate window i.e. I only evaluated usage of it in form of sub-window in vertical mode of operations thus adjacent one way or another to Left and Right Panel]
And so I propose:
A] Make the Mouse Wheel work in the Quick Viewer right away either automatically or by adding a new option for such behavior
B] Get rid of that Schrödinger's Focus in Active Panel i.e. allow for navigation by remaining Arrow keys in working state in the [initially] Active Panel. And also make sure the Enter key will also still work so that navigation to other folders will become possible
C] Stop a stepping on [i.e. selecting] the parent directory indicator from almost entirely breaking this Quick Viewer feature
