Hello
It's a long time problem, but now I have focused better.
When try to access to an Active Domain Share using UNC (ie \\server\share\....) it takes huge amount of time to start accessing (after it runs more smoothly) but if I map the same folder as w: it runs REALLY faster.
If I do the same on File Explorer, I have samme speed on both ways to go on the same folder.
As I prefer to use UNC for majority of task, is it possible to solve? (I've tried all combination of network setting, with no success)
Configuration is
Latest Freecommander 64 bit
Windows Server 2012 R2
Thanks
Slow network file access when using UNC
Re: Slow network file access when using UNC
Although this is an old post I may have a fix as I too have had a long time issue with access to UNC folders being very slow with FreeCommander. Have had this for a very long time and put up with it as an oddity as all the other features that it provides as I could always use Windows explorer.
Fix (for me at least); disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP.

Re: Slow network file access when using UNC
It does not matter if t is old or new issue. Because if you have found a solution then you should make it public, so that whomever in the future will have the same problem will be ble to find a remedy to it
