Shift+F10 not the same as context menu key

#1 Post by h-h » 28.09.2022, 13:51

I currently use a keyboard without context menu key that I was accustomed to make use of. So, now I'm using the alternative Shift+F10. However, after some time of confusion, I now realized that Shift+F10 shows a context menu with some more and some less entries (also in submenus) than when the context menu is shown via mouse or dedicated context menu key (latter tested with AutoHotkey command "Send, {AppsKey}"). Personally, I miss the item "Edit with Notepad++" and entries in the send-to submenu that I added.

What about Shift+Ctrl+F10? Check "Tools-Define keyboard shortcuts".
I think, 32 bit FC on 64 bit Windows shows 32 bit context menu.

Shift+Ctrl+F10 indeed shows a more useful context menu that overall looks like the mouse-initiated one. I complained because Shift+F10 is a long-established alternative of the context menu key (not established by FreeCommander). So, this inconsistency/discrepancy between Shift+F10- and mouse-/context-menu-key-initiated context menu should still be eliminated.

However, strangely, there are still differences between the Shift+Ctrl+F10 menu and the regular menu:
  • The first menu has the entry "Als Pfad kopieren" ("Copy as path") that the other menu lacks.
  • The first menu misses 2 entries in the send-to submenu ("Dokumente" and a disc drive) and is flooded with the folders from my user directory (among others, many dot folders like ".vscode").
