I think Marek may have heard this from me before, but I don't think I put the bug description here, so wanted to do that so it can be found in a search and referred to in a changelog when new releases come out.
I use the mouse to do a "rubber band" selection and that works good in both Vista and XP. However, in XP, if I do not click on an actual item of text when seeking to start the drag and drop process, it does not actually start the drag/drop, but goes back to the "rubber band" selection.
Example - if I have a NAME field that is 57 wide and the file names are very short - like 01.mp3, 02.mp3, 03.mp3, etc. I have to make sure that I do not click in the "white space" to the right of the name or it will not initiate a drag. If I hover the cursor over the 01.mp3 or 02.mp3 text and then initiate a drag, it works fine.
The entire row, from left to right is highlighted as blue, which is what I prefer. I would like, however, to be able to click on ANY location within one of thoe selected rows in order to initiate the drag/drop.
I think it is a bug and I hope you are able to get it figured out.
I'm certainly not sure why Vista would work properly and XP would not, but perhas will be able to compare/contrast code options to see how to do that in XP as well.
I know as a way of comparison that PowerDesk Pro 5 on the same machines does properly initiate drag/drop when I click anywhere in the selected rows, whether over white space or not.
Thank you very much,
BK
Drag & Drop selection works as expected in Vista, but no
