This is my second try at this procedure. I followed all the instruction from these previous posts and I still can't get FC to default to My Computer and My Documents. Any further help is needed. Since my original post, I have since upgraded to the newest version of Aug 30, 2008.

Defaulting to FC on all folders...
"My Computer" will never behave like any normal drive or folder, it is a Windows Desktop Namespace.
You can make Free Commander your default file manager instead of the Windows clunker. I did that once. Unfortunately, it resulted in FC opening from the file browse panel of other programs when I clicked on a folder, instead of their behaving normally so that I could choose what to open in that program. Too much is linked to the Windows shell.
One alternative is to create a shortcut on your desktop that will open your docs folder in FC. The Target would be "(path to FreeCommander.exe)" "(path to Your Documents)", and that's that.
Otherwise, change your habits a little and use Free Commander Favorites shortcuts to get where you want to go. You could make your first one MyDocs in one panel and C:\ in the other, and a quick key command will get you there. Why try to make something good imitate something bad?
