Word 2007 quickview Slow 100% CPU unless it's running
Quickview is very slow when I try to view .doc files. I'm running office 07. I see that when I switch to the next file it seems to start a second instance of Word.exe and uses up 100% CPU until I kill that instance. It quickviews ok if I have Word running in the background. Suggestions?

I've partly answered my own question. Do not put .dot in configuration list of file types "as internet"! This seems to cause Word to start another instance of word.exe and then you have two instances running with 100% cpu grinding away. Another problem is do not put .rtf in the "as internet" configuration list because this will also cause the above behaviour. Is there some way to make .rtf files wrap to the window in quickview? It looks like crap. BTW, in case you're not following, I'm talking about going to quickview and then hitting f3 to configure it. This quickviewer is an amazing feature, but it looks like there are some issues. The main thing is to go to Explorer under file options and in the advanced tab uncheck everything for .doc and .docx otherwise it will try to open in Word.

Quickview is definitely buggy in the latest version. I'm comparing it to xyplorer and I'm not getting any 100%cpu in their preview mode, nor am I haven't 2 instances starting. Anyone else using office 2007 that is able to see previews now problem, that is, able to switch files and its reasonably fast? Please let me know what version you're running.
