FreeCommander shortcut keys same as Windows

#1 Post by mgroen » 09.02.2020, 14:27

In classical Window File Explorer, I used to use keyboard shortcut cntrl+shift+N to create new folder.

Is it possible to set same definition to this shortcut key in FreeCommander (create new folder)?

Also, create same definition of shortcut keys as in Windows Explorer (alt+P to toggle preview pane for example).
list can be found on Microsoft site.

Thanks,
Mathijs

Thanks for the tip. It helped.

Suggestion would be to accumulate it all in one toggle setting: use windows explorer keys on or off.
thanks,

Most keyboard shortcuts are not in conflict, so they can be used by default, some of them are already working like this, so perhaps also others will be added, those few shortcuts which are in conflict must be set to file manager or explorer by default, it's not easy to decide, FC has many users which are using the current shortcuts for years, it would be a problem if they would be changed now, I think that most important shortcut is the F5 and in file managers it works as copy all the time, also the other F-keys are depending on this key, like F6 to move.

Perhaps the special setup - settings on first FC start could be added - like "Explorer mode" and "File manager mode", and all settings would be configured that way, so if user start FC for the first time, he could choose the language, mode, and in "explorer mode there would be one panel, explorer shortcuts, toolbar buttons like in explorer, in file "manager mode" there would be dual panel, FC shortcuts, NC-mode... Anyway, I'm not sure if it's needed.
