804 - Sorting broken on delete

#1 Post by Dreamer » 21.10.2019, 18:21

To reproduce:
- use default settings, probably not needed
- add the "Genre" column to details view
- go to folder with mp3 files
- sort by genre
- select any mp3 file
- delete the file using drag&drop to the splitter recycle bin icon, or use delete toolbar button, or just copy/paste (ctrl+c, ctrl+v) the file
= sorting by "genre" is lost / changed to "name"

Confirmed, in my case I sorted according to Album Artist.

Interesting is to note, that the column "Album Artist" still has the caret on it, indicating it as the sort criteria, but as Dreamer described above, sorting has reverted to "by file name". After refreshing, the files are sorted accoring to the selected criteria.

Not fixed in 805, it looks just the files above the deleted file are not sorted correctly.

I have checked again and it seems to work right now.
How can I reproduce it?

Still the same in 806.

Steps to reproduce are in the first post.

Just download some mp3 files, or use any and change the genre in some tag editor, e.g. mp3Tag, so that you will have at least 4 different genres.

EDIT: OK, it looks it works good with default settings, still testing, I'll send you my config file, if needed...

It works good now even with my settings, really strange, need more time for testing...

...And broken again. :?

OK, I can reproduce it with default settings, in 806:

To reproduce:
- use default settings
- go to folder with many mp3 files with different genres
- rename folder with mp3 files to "Music"
- create column profile "Music", *Music*
- for Music column profile add the columns: "Name", "Bit rate" and "Genre" to details view and remove all other columns
- create auto sel. views "Music", *Music*, "At least half of file match...", "*.mp3", view "Details", Column profile "Music", sort on "Name"
- go to Music folder with mp3 files
- sort by genre
- select any mp3 file, or file between 10 and 20
- delete the file
= sorting by "genre" is lost - but it's not changed to Name, but partly random...

Please check the screenshot, some files are sorted randomly, but from some point, other files are sorted by Genre, correctly, it's strange, try to test with the steps above and with as many files as possible, about 100 and 5 different genres.
