File Preview

#1 Post by ADRz » 04.10.2019, 21:08

I am wondering if there are any settings that you allow a better preview of supported file types. Right now, when I open a preview, the preview covers the upper left corner of the preview window (approximately one quarter of the total window) and there is no setting that I have been able to find that allows it to cover the totality of the window. Is this a bug? Or is there a setting that would allow the preview to be expanded to the full window? Any information would be desirable!!!

PS: I do not know if this is a function of resolution. The behavior noted has been observed in 4K monitors.

- file type in viewer
- do you use plugin
- screenshot (you can send me per email)
- program version
- Windows version

Well, I use the "file view" icon but the F3 provides the same view in a larger window. It works the same for all kinds of files (MS Office, PDFs, etc.). I can provide images, but it is not possible to do so utilizing the editor in these boards. I have the latest version of FreeCommander (802) and I use Windows 10 Pro x64-bit (version 1903)

You could try one from the options:

1. (Windows 10 last version) Open properties of the freecommander.exe file and select "Compatibility" tab.
Click on "Change high DPI setting". In the new dialog activate "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and select "Application" for "Scaling performed by:".
Accept all with OK.

2. Try to change preview of PDF files from "Windows preview" to "Internet/Office preview".
- Open internal viewer with F3
- Open settings with F9 and select "General" tab
- from the field "as Windows preview" remove ".pdf"
- add ".pdf" in field "as Internet/Office"
- save setting with OK

Thanks, it now works very well. You may want to actually enter specific information for users in "Settings" as 4K monitors are probably becoming more common
