Free Commander has zillions of features but it would be snappy to
open a selected folder in a new tab with one action. iow, instead
of Control-T then I have a new tab, then navigate and hit Enter on
a folder, if I could just OpenFolderInNewTab with a hotkey or whatever,
then I could immediately drag drop copy into out of it or whatnot.
Seems like it would speed up common operations. Another nice variation
would be OpenFolderInNewTabInOppositePane so that one could drag files
from a pane into a folder that was in the same pane initially, easily,
instead of doing cut paste etc..
To clarify, say in the current pane I have several files and a folder and I want to copy all the files into the folder.. then I have several approaches. One is I can go into the folder, then click Control-E to open that folder in the opposite pane, then go up one, select the files and copy them over with F5. The same operation would be much simpler if I could right click on the folder and choose to open the folder in a new tab on the opposite pane. Then I'd only have to select the files and copy with F5. Seems more straightforward and is an operation I do frequently.
Open Folder in New Tab with one action?

Very cool. With that, named layouts and multiple renamer it's toughMarek wrote:or ALT+Click with the middle mouse button
to think of an excuse not to use it.
In fact I wrote a little launcher thingy and one of the buttons will launch
a file manager with 2 selected folders. It defaults to Free Commander if
the user has it installed.
