I have the .ods file format (OpenOffice Calc spreadsheet) and .xls (MS Excel) listed in the Quick View options as "as Internet" but don't understand how to set it up so I can easily preview these files. I end up opening them instead, or I'm sent to the Microsoft Windows File Association page because "Windows does not recognize this file type" (not that it doesn't know its own Excel files but because spreadsheets are not an Internet file format). If I follow the search link on that page, I'm offered downloadable programs that will open the file types... but I already have programs to open these file types. I have a program, in fact, that will open both spreadsheets: OOo Calc.
In Settings>Programs, I specified OpenOffice.exe instead of a specific OOo module (assuming this would be used as the viewer for the file types listed under the text category in the Quick View configuration), as well as for the external viewer. In normal use, this executable will open the correct OOo module for the file (Writer for text documents, Calc for spreadsheets, Impress for presentations, etc.). It didn't work that way in FC when I had the spreadsheet formats in the text category, so I moved those back to Internet. But it doesn't seem possible to get a preview of them there either.
Sigh. What should I try next?
Cheers!
