In XE it's the same - not sure if it's a new bug, I guess it was OK in the previous XE versions, anyway, it's broken in 611.
Edit: OK, so it's broken only sometimes, to reproduce:
- search for "nothing"
- click Size title column
- search for something (a)
= sort by size title is set, but sorting is broken, I have to click Name twice to fix sorting
