How to put app shortcuts on the toolbar?

#1 Post by WheresTheDoc » 18.11.2012, 02:48

Hello, how do I put application-shortcuts on the toolbar? Like, when I click on it, it'll run the corresponding application. Eg:

I remember it can be done in FreeComm2009, but I can't seem to find the way to do it in XE.

Thanks a lot!

Hi! Right-click on the toolbar (anywhere) and go to "Customize Favourite Toolbars". There you will find the panel for adding/editing items.

I thought the Favourites thingy is for folders, not applications? I seem to be able to only add folders to it. I tried to "Customize Action Toolbars", but can't find any option to run outside apps.

Ah, I got it. I read your other post about activating the Favourites Items toolbar. Thanks!

You are welcome. I put apps, commandline tricks, powerpro functions, autohotkey scripts, folders - you name it - and I launch them all from FC. The best part is that FC can send the names of the selected files as parameters to your command items. That means you can open the files in a particular app, or you can run scripts on a particular file.

I wrote some autohotkey scripts which you can use with FC, if you are interested. The point is to show you what you can do with FC's powerful toolbars.
