601 File persists in original folder view after move
601 File persists in original folder view after move
When I move a file (via drag-and-drop) from one pane to another, the file copies correctly and shows up in the destination folder but also appears to remain in its original folder (i.e. looks like it's been only copied instead of moved) - until I exit the original folder, then click back into it, then I see that the file is indeed gone from there (so all is well) - but of course this is kind of a hassle (also because the 'progress bar' during moving under Windows 7 cycles continuously instead of showing the actual percentage copied, so there's no positive indication of move completion).
Re: 601 File persists in original folder view after move
I can't reproduce this in 603 (Win7-64).
I tried it with both Move:Use Windows and Move:Use FC (in Settings > File/Folder Operations > General page).
Questions:
(1.) How does this compare to what you observe for a drag-drop move of the same files in Windows Explorer?
(2.) Might this be a matter of time delay due to background processing? That is, will the filename be removed properly from the source location if you wait a bit, or only after manually refreshing the view?
(3.) Does file size make any difference? Does this happen only with large files, or with small files as well?
By the way, Ctrl+R is a shortcut to refresh the view. That doesn't solve your problem, but it may be easier than switching to another folder and back.

Re: 601 File persists in original folder view after move
Thanks, Scott - in the meantime I've tried it with a big bunch of files (including several big .iso's) and it worked fine. The first time was only a single small file so can't imagine it would take long to update the display. Oh well... I'll keep you posted if I notice this happening again...
