Improvement to Quick Filter

#1 Post by Persmi » 26.12.2011, 05:47

Quick filter could be a combo box allowing typing or selecting previous entries by clicking and selecting from a drop down with the mouse.

Also:
- Have an independent filter box for each tab. Please this is VERY IMPORTANT!
- Have the possibility to define more than one extension at the time (eg. ".bat .exe .com")

Use a filter with semicolon-separator like this: *.jpg;*.txt

Not working for me either in FC XE 582 (note the XE version), Win 7/64.

You're right, this works for "filter", not for the "quick filter".

But, if I want to filter a long list with more specified arguments I use the "filter" with the possibility for predefined filters.
If only a quick separation of files with a special phrase is necessary, I use the "quick filter".

Thanks for clarifying that this works for the filter, not a quick filter (I didn't read your first comment carefully). Also for explaining your strategy for when to use a filter vs. a quick filter. That makes sense.

It is implemented for the release 583. More then one extension must be defined with ; (eg. ".bat;.exe;.com").

All three features work nicely for me in 584. Thank you, Marek!

Question: Is there a way to clear the Quick Filter history for a tab?
