Always resets to "Notification Only" in Notification Area

#1 Post by Tregonsee » 26.12.2011, 15:24

I have the non-beta FC set up to start with Windows, and to minimize to the Notification Area showing an icon so that I can access it. I have tried to do the same thing with FC XE, using exactly the same settings. However, when I start Windows, the FC XE icon is hidden, and set to "Show notifications only." If I go to customize, and reset it to "Show notifications and icon," it works correctly until I restart. I have to do this again. I experimented with the non-beta FC, whatever I set is not changed with a restart. I am using WIN7 Pro 32 bit.

I do not have this problem with FC XE 570 in Win 7 Home Premium x64. The tray icon status is stable after restart (currently I have it set to "show icon and notifications").

Hmmm. I have 572 installed, but this happened with earlier versions as well. Thanks for the info that it can work. That means that it is probably something besides the program, but since it only happens with this program, out of several, I am not certain where to look. :( Well, that is a very minor issue.

A bit more information on this, as of FC XE version 601. If I do not select "Always show system tray icon," it works correctly, just like FC. However, if I do check that option, it is quickly reset to "Notification Only." This happens on both my laptop and desktop, with WIN7 Pro 32 bit.
