FreeCommander Portable starting with preview?

#1 Post by Compu_Terminator » 21.10.2011, 17:26

Hello, :)
it seems, i'm the newest user here. My name is Andreas and i'm living in Berlin, Germany.
I use FreeCommander since a lot of years, it's the best file manager, which exists in this category. :!:
Since today, i use 2 versions of FreeCommander on the same PC's (4 pieces with different functions or jobs), 1 x "normal" FC, 1 x FC portable to organize images (i'm a freelancer in web developing).
Is it possible, to start FreeCommander Portable with preview of my image files on the right side, so i've not to do right click and set "preview"?
An answer will be very friendly. Thanks in advance.

Have a nice weekend and be in touch, Andreas

Edit: It's settled. Both versions side by side don't run. One version takes the settings of the other. Too bad.....

I haven't tested with FC XE but with 2009 I run two portable FC 2009 at same time.
Put in different folders and rename the FreeCommander.exe to e.g. FreeCommanderHW.exe. If you have settings already then rename the FreeCommander.ini also. Otherwise a new FreeCommanderHW.ini is created. That's it. I used it for years. Should work with FC XE also. Now you can make it round:
- create a icon e.g. in light red
- change the background to light red and in the background in the other FC to light blue
Then you have a icon and a background with same color. Any other color is also OK. ;-)

Run FC on: Win10 x64 (English), Win10 x64 (German), Win7 x64 (German)

Hello,
thank you very much for your answer. I've done it and both FCs are running as so, as i want.
Perfect.

Thx again, Andreas :)
