would it be possible to extract data from video files (MP4) like framerate, dimensions in a rename action? that way i can easy see which of my files are 4K, which have higher frame rate, etc.

You can add special columns for these settings (Tools\Settings\View\Column profiles\Define columns\Add new column):

when you batch rename files it is possibe to add for instance exif data for JPG. but not for MP4 video (it is indeed available in columns). i wondered if this could be used as well.

so for instance a file could automatically be renamed from myfilename.MP4 to myfilename-1080-50.MP4 (like width 1080 and frame rate 50)

Ah, yes, I understand now.
Currently only MP3 info and picture EXIF info are available for your purpose, true.
I'd like to see this option added for video files, too (@Marek: is it possible to integrate somehow mediainfo.dll library?), although I don't know any batch files renamer or files manager that currently support this option.

yeah i fgure if it can be displayed in a column the rename tool could access this data as well?
it could be handy.

FC has only a basic renamer (which is ok).
You should use an advanced renamer like http://www.advancedrenamer.com/ or http://www.den4b.com/?x=products&product=renamer
