Fix QuickView to autoplay media files like FC2009.02b does

#1 Post by shunt » 16.10.2013, 05:42

I just installed FC XE and found the Quick View requires me to click the play button in order to play any media files. This makes it very inconvenient if you have numbers of files to examin or preview. :x

Please do bring the feature back. At least make it an option. 8)

Hi all, same problem here! I'm back to the previous version cause of this bug - autoplay will just not work!

It really would be great if this was fixed!

Thanks!

Nothing to fix, just set the option "Auto-start playback" in the Viewer Multimedia settings.

Sorry horst.epp, I cheked that befor - it makes no diffrence!

I have 2 version of FreeCommander installed on 2 computers:
1.) 2009.02b and 2.) XE 2014 Build 650

On both computers (Win7-32/Win7-64 bit) version 1. will autoplay; and on both computer version 2. will not! Im sorry to say, but it seems to have nothing to do with the described windows settings!

Any other suggestions?

TIA!

The option "Auto-start playback" works fine for me on win7x64sp1 (using Windows Media Player 9.0 interface).
Tested with FC XE 650 and 657 beta.

Try with the portable version using default settings (only enable the "Auto-start playback" option) and see if it works then:

Hi joby_toss,

I downloaded the version you suggested on to my pc at work, enabled autoplay in windows, but nothing changed, I still have to press the playbutton. So this has been PC nr. 3 (2@home, 1@work; workpc win7pro 32) that does'nt autoplay videos with media-player! Media Player on this PC is in version: 12.0.7601.17514.

Maybe the problems I have are because of some FC setting? Does Autoplay also have to be configured within FC Settings?

Also, please not again that when using FC 2009.02b videos automatically playback!

Any ideas?

.. next please! ;)

Hi joby_toss,

that was the missing link - it works again!

I was checking the autoplay-function under windows7! I was unaware of the setting you showed me in your screenshot! :(

Thank you for your help! :D
