I'm not sure what do you mean, but in Favorite toolbars you can create a folder easily:

For Program: use only the path, e.g. "D:\Documents".

If you mean something else, please explain it.

I mean not adding a folder, but creating folders in the favorites in order to organize the folder favorites (Alt + Up) better.

So do you mean real folders? It is possible to create folders/categories and sub-categories with any shortcuts to files and folders.

Depends on what you mean with "real" folders. Not file system folders, but folders within the folder favorites, which you can reach with the shortcut Alt + Up in order to organize the folder favorites.

The same way you can organize your favorites in Firefox. See picture above.

Hm.. then I think you can create "folder" in favorite tools: "Add new toolbar" and "Add new category" - this way you will have one folder and one subfolders (of course any number of folders and subfolders). You can assign a custom icon for each category.

The problem is that I want to use the folder favorites which you can reach with the shortcut Alt + Up. One main advantage of Freecommander is the shortcuts. If I have such a function assigned to a shortcut than this function should be extended, because this guarantees the maximum speed of work which is what Freecommander is all about.

I personally don't use favorite folders.
you can define and access any particular folder in one single click by using the favorite toolbar.

Shortcuts are better and faster to use than clicks and searching the right button or icon. Shortcuts is one of the main reasons I use Freecommander.

If I wanted to use buttons and clicking menus by mouse, then I would use windows explorer. I need an efficient way to work with my explorer an there is nothing more efficient than keyboard shortcuts.

It's nice that you can have own toolbars, but why not make them accessible via keyboard shortcuts? This way, every one could use it the way he needs.

I want open the shortcuts by keyboard which already exists (Alt + Up) and the select the right favourite via keyboard. And the favourites should be organized like in every good browser, where you have the possibility to group them via folders.

The only thing that is missing is the possibility to group them.

The other solutions you mentioned are just workarounds, which have problems when you have lots of different folders on different drives, which you want to manage. If I have 50 folder favorites, I don't want to have 50 buttons, but instead only one good organized menu (therefore I need the folders), where I can navigate very fast to the right folder.

Do you want to have a button for every bookmarked website in your browser? There might be a time, when you have so many buttons that they waste really much screen space which you might better use for displaying some websites. That's at least what I would prefer.

I too support hierarchical structure for the favorites menu. That is how it is implemented in many file managers and it is sorely missed in XE.

yeah, I'm into revamping favorite folders, now that I started using them...

This is the only missing feature now which I really need.

I still hope the handling of the folder favorites will be better in a future version.

Categories are already implemented in the favorite toolbars. So it should be really easy to bring them to the folder favorites. This is everything I want.
