FreeCommander XE 2017 Build 774 64–bit donor, Windows 10 64-bit. Unable to get Quickview to display pdf files. Nuance Power PDF Standard. Tried configuring under Programs; Editors, Viewers, External viewers, and Default action with NuancePDF.exe and DefaultViewer.exe. Also tried with Acrobat Reader DC AcroRd32.exe no luck. Every other file type except pdf and xls views. Xlsx works fine. The message I get when a pdf or xls file is highlighted is "Preview of this file can not be showed". When double clicking both pdf and xls files open.

Windows Explorer has preview pane. Can you see the .pdf & .xls files in Windows Explorer preview?

When checking the Windows Explorer preview pane I noticed an .xlt file that I could also view in the Windows Explorer preview pane so I went back to freecommander and noticed I could preview the .xlt file. Just for the heck of it I clicked on an .xls file and was able to Quickview. I did nothing to any settings. But still no .pdf.

I have installed the test version of "Nuance Power PDF Standard" and I can see the options for integration of the program with Internet Explorer.
Activate the option and in FreeCommander move the '.pdf' extension from the filed "as Windows preview" to the field "as Internet/Office" (open Viewer with F3 and go to Options->Settings: General).
After that the preview of the .pdf files works fine.
