Hi.
Been using FC for a while and love the many features but frustrated at the mobile phone problem.
In FC I can browse to the device and see and select things but whenever I need to use file commands like "rename" or copy etc an error shows up.
Is there any way around this problem?
In explorer I can go to the phone and rename/ delete and copy files all ok.
maybe I am missing a step but I would like to learn how to make FC work with the mobile phone.

It is windows 10 64bit always updated and FC 64bit 770 Donor.

thanks for any ideas to try.

Confirmed partially, 770 donor 64-bit, Windows 10 Home 1709 64-bit, Samsung Galaxy S3.

Testing with "Card" folder (microSD):
- rename shows the error message: "The parameter is incorrect | <CSIDL:0\{020901A2.......}"
- copy/paste within a folder on "Card" causing endless "Copying..." dialog (3MB file).
- copy from phone to pc (F5/Win method and FC method/Ctrl+X/C/V) shows "Error Copying File or Folder | Data supplied is of wrong type"
- copy from pc to phone (F5/FC method) shows no error, just a sound, operation doesn't work.
- copy from pc to phone (F5/Win method/Ctrl+X/C/V) cause an endless smpty copying dialog with just "Copying..." title, no other text, empty progress bar - but when I cancel the operation, it looks like copying started but it's cancelled immediately.

Testing with "Phone" folder (internal memory):
- rename shows the error message: "The parameter is incorrect | <CSIDL:0\{020901A2.......}"
- copy/move/delete from phone to pc and vice versa (F5/F6/Win method and FC method/Ctrl+X/C/V) works good

OK, suddenly everything works good, except "rename", perhaps it was a bad connection, weird.

minsik - try to close any explorer and FC windows and then open FC, re-connect a phone.

Try default setttings and these workaround hints from the FAQ if it still doesn't work:

All operations (except rename) works as expected: Windows 10 64 1709, FC770 64/32, Galaxy A3(2016).
The rename operation works fine if you add the following line to the [Form] section of the freecommander.ini file:
ExtractSidFromPath=1
This line may only be used as of Windows 10 1703.

First rename works good, thanks, Marek, but then error dialog shows:

The system cannot find the file specified
C:\Users\Dreamer\filename.ext

If I refresh view manually before another rename, it works good. Path and name looks the same before manual refresh, but it looks something is wrong.

First rename works good, thanks, Marek, but then error dialog shows:
Could you provide me more info. It works for me.
You mean, the rename on the local drive does not work with the added line?

OK, it works with default settings, I'll try to find the option causing the issue...

EDIT: Got it!

- enable the option "Use dialog window for rename"
- go to smartphone path
- focus any file
- rename the file first time
- works good
- now rename it again
= error dialog shows

- refresh view manually
- now rename it again
- it works good

Related bug:

- add this line to ini: ExtractSidFromPath=1
- enable the option "Use dialog window for rename"
- go to smartphone path
- focus any file
- rename the file
- delete this file
= error dialog shows: "Some selected items cano not be deleted! | Desktop"
