753 - deleting symlinks deletes the content of the linked folder

With the option "delete with FreeCommander method" selected:
When deleting a folder which contains a symlink "L" to another folder "D", all the content of folder "D" gets deleted as well.
(In my case fortunately to the recycle bin.)

I think it's related to this bug report: http://forum.freecommander.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8101

Windows 10, x64 - FreeCommander 753, 64-bit

Thats the worst error an file manager can have.
Loosing files should never happen, even in betas.

What exactly do you mean? Folder shortcut (.lnk) or html file (.html)?

I can't reproduce it with .lnk.

Regarding .html, yes, when deleting the file, also the folder is deleted (with default settings, not with FC operations), but it's the same as in Explorer.

Please provide more information, steps to reproduce, file names...

FC 753 64bit, Windows 10 64bit.

I am talking about symbolic links. I create them with "Link Shell Extension", or of course mklink may be used.

You can reproduce it this way:

Existing folder structure:

Code: Select all

Folder "A"
|- Folder "B"
    |- symbolic link "L" to folder "F"
|- Folder "F" ( or at any other place)
    |- file "a"
    |- file "b"
If Folder "B" gets deleted with method "FreeCommander", not only the symbolic link "L" itself gets deleted (or unlinked), furthermore the content of the linked folder "F", file "a" and "b", gets deleted as well, which is not the intention and not the behavior it was in earlier versions and I think not the usual way symlinks should be deleted.
