Opening UNC paths in address bar fails

I tested using FreeCommander XS 2015 build 680 32bit, plain vanilla after installation. OS is Windows 7 Enterprise in an AD domain.

How to reproduce: Press Alt-G, then enter an UNC path into address bar, e.g. \\server\dir.
Result: Error popup box "The network is not present or not started."

Note: The share is not public, it requires authorization. All our shares do. I tested with different shares, always same result.

It works if you use menu Folder -> Go to folder.

The bug is more severe than I originally thought, because the same error occurs when an UNC path is added to the Favorites.

This makes using Favorites with UNC paths impossible, which is really close to a showstopper in corporate environments with many file shares.

Please, could someone have a look at this?

To be more precise: Adding UNC paths to the favorites is no problem, of course.
And actually as I just found out the favorite pointing to a UNC path can be used from the favorites menu.
Only using the favorite from the Favorites sidebar is not possible.
